Frequency adverbs
Overview
In this intermediate-level lesson, students will look at the use of frequency adverbs in more complex sentence structures. By grasping these, students will be better able to communicate habits and routines.
The lesson plan begins with a boardwork suggestion, offering one effective method for teaching these adverb structures. This sets the stage for a couple of engaging, low-resource classroom activities. One is a collaborative speaking task where students make predictions about their partner. To end the lesson on a high note, we'll finish with a classic group game idea where your students can put their newly acquired skills into practice.

Use of the board
The students look at some intermediate-level constructions that use frequency adverbs.
The sample board for this lesson focuses on the grammar of frequency adverbs, their position in a sentence, asking questions about frequency and some common frequency expressions. Students at this level should already be familiar to most of these, so try to elicit as much as possible as you work through the board.

Frequency adverb position
Students complete sentences, placing the frequency adverbs in the correct position.

Every day
A pair-work speaking activity where students try to predict what their partner's results will be.
