What's the time?
Overview
In this beginner-level ESL lesson, we will be discussing daily routine and time. By the end of this session, students will have learned a simple and effective way to express specific times and ask others about their day.
The lesson begins with a boardwork suggestion to introduce the main concepts. We then move on to several classroom activities where students will have the opportunity to chat about their daily routines using the time expressions they have learned. Finally, we will wrap up the lesson with a fun game to reinforce the material.

Use of the board
The students learn to express some simple times along with a question structure they can use to ask someone about their daily routine.
Start by adding the three statements to the board and eliciting their L1 translation using mime. After that, add the four clock face problems to the board and have the students work in pairs to solve them. You can correct them as a group later. Finally, move onto the dialogue below, eliciting routine activities from the class and asking students questions using this language.
