Questions with the verb to be
Overview
In this beginner-level ESL lesson, we focus on forming questions using the verb "to be." The goal is to revisit and refine their understanding of basic question structures centred around this fundamental verb, building their confidence in initiating conversations and seeking clarity.
This lesson plan begins with a suggested boardwork example that lays out the target language. Following that, students will participate in several low-resource activities, modifying statements into questions and answering questions from the teacher. To round off the session and reinforce learning, we've integrated a classroom game that's both fun and rooted in the day's objectives.
