Conversation skills: Job interviews
Overview
In this third lesson on the topic of profession, students will get the chance to practise job interviews. It serves as a fun way to introduce students to interview skills in English, enhancing their confidence and preparedness for real-world job opportunities.
We start with a review of the homework from the previous lesson, using boardwork to reinforce key concepts. Students will then engage in a series of low-resource classroom activities. These activities include discussions about unusual professions and mock job interviews for these roles. To wrap up, we’ll play a group game inspired by an old UK game show.

Use of the board
This is sample board work for the homework review activity. Your board will reflect the ideas given to you by your students. See the warm-up activity for more details.
As each student discusses their homework, record any vocabulary that you feel is appropriate to the upper-intermediate level. The boardwork below shows one way that you could do this.
