Describing people
Overview
This lesson focuses on the use of the verb to be and have got in the context of describing people. Familiarising students with these common verb forms will enhance their ability to accurately relate characteristics and physical appearances.
We start the lesson with a few warm-up activities that serve as a revision of the previously covered material in the course. We have provided notes on suggested boardwork that compares the usage of be and have got in when describing people. The lesson includes several low-resource ESL classroom activities where the students describe family members to their classmates. We also offer a suggestion for a homework task, and as usual, we wrap up the class with a fun classroom game.
