Always, sometimes and never
Overview
Welcome to our beginner ESL lesson on frequency adverbs. These adverbs, including always, sometimes, and never, play a pivotal role in describing habitual actions in English. In this session, students will be introduced to these common adverbs, enabling them to express how often they undertake certain activities or events more clearly.
This lesson plan begins with suggested boardwork, offering a visual aid for presenting the target language. After that, your students will engage in several low-resource activities that centre around their eating habits, employing the newly learned frequency adverbs in discussions with classmates. We end the lesson with a classroom game idea that helps cement this freshly learned language.

Use of the board
The students are introduced to some common frequency adverbs through a simple dialogue.
Start by introducing and translating the frequency adverbs that we'll be using for this lesson. After that, step through the dialogue. Use the students' L1 to confirm their understanding of the statements and elicit different food items to complete the sentences.

Eating habits
For this writing activity, students will use frequency adverbs to report on their eating habits.

Eating habit interview
This follow-on activity has students interviewing each other about their eating habits.

Lunchtime
Using their partner's notebook, students have to report in the 3rd person.

Classroom games
