Clothing
Overview
In this beginner-level lesson on clothing, students will develop the ability to recognise various clothing items and describe the clothing worn by themselves and their peers. The objective of this session is to enhance their vocabulary and descriptive abilities.
The lesson begins with a structured boardwork activity that effectively introduces the necessary vocabulary and sentence structures. After this, students will engage in several interactive activities that focus on describing their clothing and that of their classmates. The session ends with a classroom game that's intended to reinforce and practice the learning objectives for the day.

Classroom activities
Use of the board
Students learn how to describe the clothes that they and their classmates are wearing.
Start by stepping through the dialogue in the centre of the board, eliciting as much as possible from your students. Select two students from the class, but don't tell them and complete the descriptions of Bob and Marie based on what these students are wearing. Focus on the verb conjugations of the verb 'be'. After you have completed the dialogue, have the students try to guess who matches each description. Finally, draw yourself and a different student on either side of the board and elicit the different types of clothing you are both wearing. You can add labels to the drawings as you go.

Clothing Pictionary
Students have to guess the names of clothing items based on images from the board.

What am I wearing?
Students draw a picture of themselves complete with accurate labels for clothing vocabulary.

Classmate descriptions
A simple speaking activity where students have to describe what their partner is wearing.
