Classroom activities
Use of the board
The students review the grammar and function of using going to + infinitive to express the future.
Start by adding a simple statement to the board and explain to the class that we use the construction going to + infinitive to talk about plans. Confirm that your students understand the statement before moving on to the grammar representation. Build out the diagram with help from your students. When you have enough on the board, ask for an example statement and add the first correct one to the board. Finally, explain how this construction changes in the negative and ask the students to convert the example sentence.
