Using just, yet and already with the present perfect
Overview
In this elementary-level lesson, students will learn how to use the adverbials of time just, yet, and already to modify the meaning of a sentence in the present perfect tense. They will review the purpose of each adverbial and how it alters the time in which an action or event occurred.
The lesson includes a suggested boardwork example to help present the target language and provide a visual aid for the students. It also contains several low-resource ESL classroom activities that encourage collaboration and participation in speaking and writing tasks. Finally, the session concludes with a couple of classroom game ideas that reinforce the students' understanding of these adverbials and provide a fun and engaging way to end the lesson.
