The verb to be
Overview
This lesson focuses on reviewing the different conjugations of the verb to be. Mastering this verb is key to English language proficiency as it is instrumental in constructing basic sentences and expressing states or conditions.
We start with a couple of warm-up activities that build on prior learning in the course. We've included notes on suggested boardwork to demonstrate the various forms of the verb to be. The lesson includes several ESL classroom activities where students practice crafting sentences using to be in its different conjugations. To round off the class in a fun and interactive way, we've also incorporated a classroom game idea.
