Family vocabulary
Overview
This lesson focuses on introducing students to a range of vocabulary related to discussing family members. Familiarity with these words will enable students to share personal details, understand others' family references, and engage in more meaningful conversations in English.
We begin with a few warm-up activities that build upon the concepts learned in previous lessons. For a visual representation of family relationships, we have provided notes on suggested boardwork involving stepping through a family tree. We then move on to several ESL activities that allow students to practice and apply their newly acquired family vocabulary. We also include a suggested homework task that aligns with the lesson content.. Wrapping up the lesson, we continue with our tradition of including a fun classroom game.
