Telling the time
Overview
This lesson is a crucial component of our ESL course for adult beginners and aims to teach students how to accurately express time in English. By mastering this essential skill, students will be better equipped to participate in daily conversations and real-life situations where time plays a critical role.
The lesson begins with some optional warm-up activities that review previously covered topics. We provide suggested boardwork that highlights a couple of ways of expressing time in English. After that, the students participate in some collaborative classroom activities. These activities are designed to help them practice and contextualise the target language. To encourage learning outside of class, we suggest a homework task. Lastly, we wrap up the lesson with a fun game that reinforces the current theme's vocabulary.
